Solar farm
A developer wants to build in the Fens and says the land will be returned to farming after 40 years.
The Treading Bank Solar Farm is proposed for farmland in the Cambridgeshire countryside. The developer said it could power more than 18,000 homes.
He says the site could spell “serious trouble” for airfield users if the government backs the plans.
Huntingdonshire District Council has said it will oppose the proposed Haddon Road Solar Park at appeal.
An application is lodged for a project that would involve 100,000 solar panels on land near Thorney.
A planning inspector will decide whether the Haddon Road Solar Park can be built, but councillors at Huntingdonshire District Council will still have a chance to have their say.
